31 January 2024: AI Lund lunch seminar: AI tools and the impact on Education – what are our opportunities, responsibilities and fears

31 January 2024 12:00 to 13:15 | Online seminar

How will the ubiquitous availability of AI tools, particularly generative AI, impact the ways we learn, teach and examine in the future? In this seminar, we would like you to bring your ideas and experiences of education and respond as a human to some human prompts about how we can shape educational futures for ourselves and for the next generations. Should we continue to hold lectures and seminars? Should we let students complete work at home, or should we supervise everything they do which is examined? How will students use AI in their professional lives and do we have a responsibility to help them do this ethically and effectively? Can we change our examination procedures to reflect the new technological landscape?

The seminar will start with a few provocations to get you thinking, and then you will be invited to contribute, to help us shape our planning and support for teachers and students. This seminar is part of our work towards a horizon-scanning report for the University board, so come along and find out how to make your voice heard on this important topic. The seminar will be focused on education and all are welcome.
