AIfor the People

Founded in 2019, the AI for the People Center at Aalborg University brings together and oversees diverse AI initiatives across the university's four faculties. With a membership exceeding 140 and expanding quickly, the center reflects the increasing integration of AI technologies into various research fields. The center's name highlights its dual emphasis on technical AI, the societal impact of AI solutions, and the governance needed to manage these effects responsibly.

AI Services

AI algorithms often require vast amounts of data and processing power. How to store, process, and share (with external partners) data in a safe, efficient, and GDPR-compliant manner is a central issue for all students and researchers working with AI. Therefore, we have established a strong central entity,  CLAAUDIA, that provides exactly these services.

Please refer to this video for further details. Moreover, CLAAUDIA and AAU’s PhD Consult can provide assistance with specific AI and AI-related topics, such as statistics, machine learning, and scientific computing. Please reach out!

The development and use of AI models and systems can sometimes raise ethical issues related to the use of data, potential bias, and inaccurate predictions. It is a top priority of the EU Commission, different national bodies and institutions, as well as institutional review boards, to ensure that the development and use of AI benefits society and individuals. AI for the People now offers ethical advice via our ethics consulting entity, AI-Ethics. If you have queries about potential ethical issues in relation to your work or an application, please reach out. All queries will be treated confidentially.
