Collaboration with Brainreader on AI tools to diagnose neurodegenerative diseases

A new research collaboration has been set up between the company Brainreader and AI for the People members from Medical Informatics and Image Analysis Group at the Department of Health Science and Technology.

The scope of the research relates to neurodegenerative disease progression, primarily Alzheimer’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis. The aim is to develop new methods using deep learning and AI for segmenting the brain while combining the already known biomarkers and methodology. The research will focus on developing a better understanding of disease progression and the development of robust and faster AI tools to help diagnose neurodegenerative diseases in the future.
