AI for the People researchers part of the third Pioneer Center in Denmark: CAPeX

Last modified: 09.01.2023

The new Pioneer Center for Accelerating Power2X Materials Discovery (CAPeX) is focused on the development of materials and power-to-X technologies for the green transition. The center brings together leading national and international researchers and receives a total grant of DKK 300 million from several Danish foundations. A core part of accelerating the design of new power2x materials is "Material Acceleration Platforms (MAPs)". MAPs are robotic mini-factories or self-driving laboratories powered by AI and material science, which can automatically design and test new materials. MAPs have the potential to reduce the development time and cost of new materials by an order of magnitude.

Simon Bøgh and his group, who are part of AI for the People, will be deeply involved in research activities on AI, robotics and MAPs. Simon: “It will be very exciting times and a perfect fit into our Robotics & Automation Group research on AI in robotics and manufacturing along with many of our great colleagues at AAU!”
